the Guildford Clinic

Children at the Clinic

The Clinic has dedicated child friendly rooms both in the recovery area post surgery and also within our Day surgery unit, and is able to admit children from 3 years old. Parents and/or carers are allowed to stay with their children, and toys, books and other distractions are provided for entertainment and relaxation. They can wear their own nightwear and we encourage you to provide your child’s favourite toy and/or comforter. We have no televisions in the rooms but you are able to bring in portable DVD players or laptops for your child to watch favourite films etc. We have a television in our patient lounge.

Children are cared for by specialist paediatric and other qualified nursing staff, as well as our team of highly qualified and experienced Consultants who are used to caring for and treating young children.

Children must be pre-assessed prior to being admitted for surgery (see our pre-assessment details).

Parents and carers should bring in their own children’s paracetamol and ibruprofen for pain relief post operation.
