Do I need to have private medical insurance to be treated at the Guildford Clinic?
No, we are open to everyone.
Will I always need to go to my GP to get a referral?
For most procedures, a GP referral is required. This is for your benefit as your GP has access to your medical history, which will be helpful to your consultant and us. There are some treatments available without a GP referral and we will be happy to advise you of these.
Can I be treated at the Guildford Clinic if I live abroad?
We treat many patients from overseas including patients who cannot obtain a specific treatment in their own country, or simply those wishing to be treated in the UK.

Can I book directly with the Guildford Clinic?
While most surgical procedures will require a GP referral, there are some treatments and services that can be booked directly.

How can I pay for my treatment?

Can I have in-patient treatment at the Guildford Clinic?
No. However, while the Guildford Clinic caters for day-patients, we can arrange for our consultants to treat you at a Nuffield Hospital.
Can I have visitors during my stay?
While you will not be staying overnight at the Guildford Clinic, visitors are welcome at any time of day, as long as it does not interfere with your treatment and recovery.
How much will it cost?
Costs will vary depending on the treatment.
When can I be treated?

Can the NHS pay for my treatment?
As part of a government initiative to reduce NHS waiting lists, agreements exist between some NHS Trusts and the Guildford Clinic.
For some specialties, you might be offered a choice through Choose and Book to visit us for your treatment. This will dependent on the agreements with your local Primary Care Trust.
